Haiti Disaster

This past week on Tuesday a high magnitude earthquake struck Haiti leaving buildings destroyed, a lack of necessities and worst of all, lifeless bodies. An estimate is said that 50,000 people have died due to this Haiti. Due to the fact that airports have been destroyed, it is difficult for countries to send in aid. What surprises me the most is that doctors are willing to sacrifice seriously wounded people for the people who have minor injuries. I do understand the fact that there are only a certain amount of doctors and physicians, but I still think there should be a balance between the care given to people who are seriously wounded and the ones who are not. When I heard of the disaster, I thought of donating the clothes that were too small or the clothes that I don't wear at all. Many people within Haiti and outside of Haiti are still trying to locate family members and I myself am hoping that their family members are found. Anyone willing to donate financially or lend a helping hand is encouraged to contact the Red Cross or any other foundation that is making an effort to help the people in Haiti. Who knew a natural disaster can do such much harm to a country?
